We are proud to back the Kensington Flemington Junior Sports Club (KFJSC) for their 2024 season, a historic local club that has been integral to the community’s health and well-being since 1982.
The club runs five sports year-round — football, cricket, soccer, netball, and basketball — and has 1,600 members from Kensington, North Melbourne, and Flemington. With its home grounds at JJ Holland Park in Kensington, KFJSC provides the space and programs for local juniors and their families to come together to play, connect, and build stronger ties with their community.
As soon as you arrive on game day, the connection between KFJSC and the local community is undeniable with all programs and weekend competitions run solely by volunteers. At the heart of the club’s philosophy is a simple yet powerful goal: “to give young players the best two hours of their week,” says football club president Matt Love.
Earlier in the year, we also hosted the club’s annual sponsorship night at our cafe Cassette, where North Melbourne Football Club President Sonja Hood shared her journey and thoughts on the importance of grassroots community. All fundraising efforts help to keep sporting programs accessible and affordable for everyone, and in turn contribute to a healthier, connected community.
Every sponsorship goes a long way to get more juniors involved and keeping active with their neighbours. As Matt puts it, “whether it's maintaining affordable fees, providing scholarships, or purchasing new uniforms and equipment, our sponsors help us maintain our commitment to create a supportive and positive environment where everyone can access and enjoy their chosen sport.”
