Meet Ana and Sebastian from Swift Walk

Last year, Sebastian proposed to Ana. While the pair were excited to get wedding planning, changes to their living situation derailed their progress and halted their plans while they looked for a new home.

While scrolling social media, Sebastian came across Swift Walk. At first, they nearly skipped the inspection, thinking they’d already found somewhere to live, but curiosity got the better of them, and they decided to take a look.

“The Swift Walk team were so warm and told us everything: like the materials for this, the kitchen has this, and the design includes this. With the other apartments we’ve viewed, the agents are like yeah, go in and see, I don’t care if you like it or not,” said Ana.

I noticed there was real intention and thought put into the design at Swift Walk, especially in terms of community and environmental considerations [...] Ana was working from home the other day and didn’t even realise it was 40 degrees outside.

Shortly after choosing their new home at Swift Walk, they realised the communal room offered another solution they had been looking for—not just a shared space, but the perfect place to get married. The warm, inviting atmosphere felt like the ideal setting for their wedding, and with the support of the on‑site team they transformed it into their very own wedding venue.

Ana recalls the moment: “Sebastian thought of the resident shared spaces at Swift Walk. We contacted the Assemble team, who were so lovely and super patient with me because I was super stressed ... and funnily enough, the terracotta in the communal room matched with what Sebastian was going to wear.”

Now settled into their apartment, the couple have quickly grown to love the details of their new home. The floors are easy to clean, storage is generous, the double‑glazed windows help regulate temperature, and the kitchen’s pale green colour creates a calm atmosphere.

Having moved in over the summer, Sebastian reflects: "Our previous apartment would get scorching hot in summer – if it was 40 degrees outside, it felt like 45 inside. Ana was working from home the other day and didn’t even realise it was 40 degrees outside."

There’s a real sense of community here. It’s not like living somewhere for ten years and never knowing your neighbours. Here people take the time to get to know each other and help each other out.

Beyond their apartment, the resident gym has become a regular part of their routine, and they’ve enjoyed getting to know their neighbours throughout the building’s shared spaces.

Since moving in late last year, Ana and Sebastian have watched the surrounding balconies take on personality as new residents settle in. Residents share tips and help each other through a building chat group, with small gestures of kindness and community connection becoming part of everyday life.

Reflecting on their wedding day, Ana says the support and care from the Assemble team made all the difference.

It was such an important day for us because our families live overseas. They are so far away from us. To have the help, support, warmth, and love from people who don’t know us was so significant. It’s not just about moving to a beautiful place. It’s having and receiving support from your community that makes you feel like you’re home.
